Cape Town Marathon 2026 passed its second evaluation and was approved, making it two consecutive approvals after the 2024 race and officially becoming a World Marathon Major in 2027.

(Remark : Cape Town Marathon 2025 was cancelled due to weather issues and rescheduled to May 2026.)

Shanghai Marathon Marathon 2025 has undergone a second evaluation and received approval for the first time. The race 2026 will be evaluated again, and if it passes in the two consecutive years, it will officially become a major marathon in 2027.
